Health Care Assistant

Responsibilities:

  • Offer health measurements such as blood pressure checks, random blood glucose checks, weight and height measurements, random cholesterol checks.

  • Help with preparations for clinical activities
  • Assist with the clinical stock ordering, equipment checking before use and safe storage after use.

We are looking to recruit a reliable and flexible individual who would be working on the pharmacy’s front desk providing excellent reception service for patients using Jelly and Emis Web.

Responsibilities:

  • Answering telephone enquiries – you’ll be the first point of contact with our customers and either answering queries or directing them to the appropriate member of staff.

Pharmacy Counter Staff And Dispensary Assistant

We are looking to hire an experienced pharmacy counter assistant. The individual must be able to communicate effectively in English, be energetic, presentable, well groomed, flexible, punctual and reliable.

Responsibilities:

  • Over the counter (OTC) and P medicines

Training:

Diabetes Specialist Nurse

Diabetes Consults is a private Pharmacy with a focus on people living with Diabetes. We have a multidisciplinary team consisting of consultant endocrinologist, nurses, clinical Pharmacists, General Practitioners, Healthcare assistants and Phlebotomists. We are looking for a Diabetes Specialist Nurse to join our vibrant team.

Applicants should be enthusiastic, motivated and passionate about improving diabetes care for patients and should come with a minimum of 3 years post registration experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, monitor and review patients with Type 2 Diabetes
  • To take the lead in empowering patients to make appropriate decisions about their treatment.
  • To initiate appropriate treatment for patients with suboptimal diabetes control including insulin initiation and change of insulin regimens.
  • To demonstrate knowledge of new and advanced therapies for diabetes control.
  • To support, advise and recommend treatment regimens for diabetes and other co-morbidities.
  • To deliver evidence-based practice in line with clinical governance, trust policies and procedures and NMC guidance.

Bank Clinical Pharmacist

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and committed pharmacist with experience of managing chronic diseases to join our multidisciplinary team of consultants, nurses and doctors and allied healthcare professionals and managers.

Bank Driver

Diabetes Consults is recruiting Bank Drivers. The role is vital in providing temporary support to a wide range of departments across the company. Our drivers will be responsible for transporting clinical staff and medical supplies to and fro varying locations across Kent. Our drivers will also be responsible for delivering medications to patients across the Medway region.  We are looking for caring and enthusiastic and energetic people to join our team.

Phlebotomist

Diabetes Consults is recruiting for bank phlebotomist staff in our private pharmacy in Medway Kent. You will be joining a group of existing phlebotomy team, providing high- quality care to our clients, and liaising with the clinical team comprising of doctors, pharmacists, nurses, and allied health professionals. The phlebotomist will also be responsible for manging stock supplies and ordering stock and date checking. 

The role is suitable for an experienced phlebotomist (at least six months) who wants to work flexibly.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong track record in providing excellent phlebotomy services and customer care for at least six months, possess excellent communication skills and be an effective part of a team.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties:
  • To carry out blood tests requested
  • To seek advice and support from a more senior/experienced colleague/Clinical team for matters outside the sphere of responsibility, knowledge, or skills.
  • o ensure that blood samples are posted or brought to the hub in time for the courier collection.
  • To document into the patient’s medical record of blood tests taken.
  • Report to the Diabetes Consults Clinical team and seek advice on specific risks that are identified, e.g. unsafe environmental conditions.
  • To carry out your duties in accordance with company protocols and guidelines.
